I see you can get from Cathcart to Pollok followin gthe Cart, my question is is it possible to get from Busby to Cathcart following the Cart?

basically no. Beyond cathcart there isn't a proper path. You can get through Linn park but you still have to end up going either via Carmunnock road or Clarkston road, neither of which are very good for cycling.
